ABOUT THE PHOTO
Probably one of the most beautiful airframes in the UK, the De Havilland DH.88 Comet, seen here taking off from Old Warden, Shuttleworth for the Season Premiere show back in 2019. The Comet was built specifically by De Havilland to take part in the 1934 England-Australia MacRobertson Air Race, eventually winning the race on the 23rd October 1934 with a time of 70hours 55minutes. She is now the only airworthy example flying in the world.
